Conversions and Migrations to Laserfiche
CPS specializes in data migrations and conversions that enhance Laserfiche's functionality, ensuring clients are set up for long-term success. By carefully transferring data from legacy systems into Laserfiche, CPS preserves the integrity and accessibility of critical information while improving data organization. This process eliminates outdated systems, reduces redundant data, and positions clients to leverage Laserfiche's powerful search, automation, and workflow capabilities. Ultimately, CPS ensures a smooth transition, enabling clients to fully utilize Laserfiche’s features for more efficient and effective operations.
SIRE
The SIRE conversion allows for customizable Cabinet specific instructions on how to convert content into Laserfiche. Conversion from SIRE to Laserfiche can be challenging given the page architecture of SIRE and the document architecture of Laserfiche.
Each page can be a different file format and can have multiple pages. The conversion utility allows for consolidation of those different formats into one Laserfiche document.
Application Extender
The Application Extender conversion is a simple database read which collects data from the Application Extender database and traces the documents and its metadata. The documents and metadata are then converted into Laserfiche documents and metadata field values.
Each document type, identified by table sets, can be configured to convert metadata and controls where the document will reside in Laserfiche.
Questys
The Questys conversion utility connects to the database and applies metadata and folder logic. Questys has metadata residing in Folders, Documents, and Content (pages).
Metadata logic is applied to propagate the metadata to the document level for Laserfiche optimization. The metadata from the folders is pushed to the document level. All folder and document common fields uses the document metadata as its value. All not-like metadata will be propagated regardless of level. Other metadata are also included in the conversion such as Hidden, Deleted, Draft, Creation Date, Created By User, Update Date, Updated By User.
There are a few record types in Questys. Folder is one of those record types. The Conversion utility will use the Tree table in Questys to generate that folder structure.
Sharepoint
The conversion utilizes the SharePoint API to collect content form a documents page part. The conversion utility uses the folder structure and document naming convention to generate metadata in Laserfiche.
Each page part can be converted separately and can have different configurations.
Liberty
The Liberty conversion utility connects to the Liberty database (dbf extension) obtains the metadata and the entries for the documents. Liberty can have documents encrypted which requires the conversion to decrypt prior to importing into Laserfiche.
The conversion utility has configurations for folder structure, metadata mappings, and document naming conventions.
Windows Directories
The Windows Directories conversion utility is unique in that each conversion is custom made to fit the customer’s Windows folder structure. Each folder name and document name within the root folder can be used as metadata to populate as fields, create Laserfiche folder structures, and set document names. The utility can also convert Microsoft documents and PDFs into images if needed.
All conversion applications include an audit of what was converted from System X to Laserfiche. The audit contains the source system content list and indicates if the content is in Laserfiche. Those that do not make it into Laserfiche will have a corrective action as to how to get that content into Laserfiche.
